Most teams don’t want to have their BYE week early in the season, and the 2023 Pittsburgh Steelers weren’t the exception to that rule.
However, the extra rest did wonders for Mike Tomlin’s team, as it has allowed them to be healthier as they embrace the next stretch of the season.
According to Jenna Harner of WPXI Sports, the Steelers had Diontae Johnson, Pat Freiermuth, Dan Moore Jr., James Daniels, Pressley Harvin III, and Anythony McFarland Jr. as full participants in practice, all while Nick Herbig (quad) and Patrick Peterson (vet rest day) were limited participants.

The AFC North is perhaps the most competitive division in the entire National Football League.
Mike Tomlin and the Steelers have always found ways to get wins, especially when their backs have been against the wall or they’ve been underdogs.
But it shouldn’t always take a miracle or a late-game turnaround for this team to be at its best.
The Steelers have one of the best defenses in the game, and they’ll always give them an opportunity to get the football back or give the offense a favorable field position.
Unfortunately, they haven’t been able to make the most of that more often than not, as Matt Canada’s play-calling has left a lot to be desired.
Hopefully, the return of these playmakers will be just what they need to take a leap forward and make a statement to the rest of the AFC North.
The Steelers are getting healthy when it matters the most.
