The Pittsburgh Steelers went 44 straight games without posting 400+ yards of offense.
That streak came to an end on Sunday during their divisional win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
It was also the first Steelers game since firing former Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada.
Notably, the last time they had 400+ total yards of offense was in their last game before hiring Canada as their Offensive Coordinator, and that might not be a coincidence.
That’s why former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee took to his show to poke fun at the recently-fired assistant, stating that he must be looking at himself in the mirror and wondering whether he actually sucks at his job or not (via Steelers Depot on Twitter).
Pat McAfee on the Steelers' offense without Matt Canada: "You're Matt Canada sitting at home wishing for their failure and then you see that 400-yard thing happen. You think he looked in the mirror and said yeah maybe I do suck?" #Steelers #NFL

Truth be told, Kenny Pickett didn’t perform up to the expectations either, so perhaps Canada wasn’t the only one responsible for the team’s offensive woes.
Even so, the fact that the last two games with 400+ total yards of the offense have come without him speaks volumes of the team’s wasted offensive potential during his time leading the way.
The Steelers have a championship-caliber defense and one of the best coaches in the game, and Canada failed to make the most of every chance he got to prove his worth.
This was the first in-season coaching firing the Steelers have done since 1941, which only makes things even worse for the former OC.
Now, it’ll be up to Pickett to pick up the slack as well and prove that he wasn’t the problem and he’s still the guy they need there.
