The Pittsburgh Steelers doubled down on their commitment to Kenny Pickett this season.
There were plenty of rave reviews during the offseason, and while we still haven’t seen that on the field, Mike Tomlin and company still have plenty of faith in him.
And while some fans and analysts might not be convinced about him yet, he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the game in one crucial aspect, which is taking care of the football.
According to NFL on CBS on Twitter, of all the 33 qualified quarterbacks from this season, only one has committed less than five turnovers, and that’s Pickett with four.

Granted that Pickett’s numbers aren’t impressive by any means, and he’s only thrown for six touchdowns through the first 10 weeks of the season, but this is no minor thing, either.
Matt Canada’s offense has been overly conservative at times, and it seems like he could use a longer leash to showcase his skills.
We have yet to see him play like he did in college, and that’s mostly because of the play-calling, so it’s still kind of early to give up on him.
Also, barring a major disaster or huge turn of events, it doesn’t seem like the Steelers are even considering making a change or going in a different direction at quarterback right now.
Pickett has been stellar in the clutch and underwhelming in the rest of the game.
But the Steelers are 6-3, and all that matters is that they continue to find ways to win games.
