The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the most popular and historied franchises in all major sports.
The Steelers’ tradition dates back a long way, and there’s just a different type of pride that comes with donning the black and gold jersey.
With that in mind, Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce couldn’t help but recently admit his fandom for the Steelers’ name on Twitter
He endorsed it as the best NFL team name in a tweet mentioning his “New Heights” podcast, going as far as to say that what the Steelers name represents is just too good to deny.
As much as I love both of these names, to me there is one clear favorite, and I have endorsed this team the entire competition, and will continue to endorse the Pittsburgh Steelers as the greatest name in the NFL. Fandom aside, what it represents is just too good to deny. https://t.co/LfnpczLbI2

For those younger fans who may not be aware of it, the Steelers got the name out of the city’s long-withstanding tradition of steel mills, where most of the early fans used to be employed.
The Steelers were one of the strongest powerhouses in the early stages of the game and even a couple of decades ago, so it’s not surprising to know that they have one of the biggest and most loyal followings in the entire sports industry.
That’s also why the fans’ patience is finally running out, as it’s been a long while since this team last made it to the big game, and that’s just not the Steelers’ Way.
Ben Roethlisberger called the players out for not honoring that tradition and stepping up last season.
Hopefully, that will no longer be the case, and this team will go back to the mountaintop and relive its glory days sooner rather than later.
It’s been long enough already.
