The Pittsburgh Steelers’ season came to another hurtful, yet predictable, end.
You cannot win at the highest level if you’re not set at the quarterback position, and the league continues to show us that over and over.
Even so, the biggest talking point now is Mike Tomlin’s future with the organization, and he’s pretty much to blame for that.
Coach Tomlin stormed out of his press conference when asked about the one year remaining in his contract, and he could’ve handled things a little better.
Nonetheless, it’s not like he believes he’s going to be fired.
According to former Steeler Willie Colon, the Rooneys aren’t going to fire Mike Tomlin because you just don’t fire a coach like that.
Talking on “The Carton Show”, he stated that Tomlin could determine his future to a degree, just like Bill Belichick did with the New England Patriots (via The Carton Show on Twitter).
"At the end of the day, Mike Tomlin's future with the Pittsburgh Steelers had nothing to do with the game itself. You don't fire Mike Tomlin. You have a discussion with Mike Tomlin."

At some point, the fans are right to be frustrated about the lack of playoff wins.
Then again, context matters, and it’s been five years since the Steelers had a decent quarterback playing at a good level.
Regardless of the roster, coach Tomlin continues to find ways to win games, even when it’s not pretty or easy.
He’s had 17 straight non-losing seasons, the second most to start a coaching career behind only the great Tom Landry.
Hall of Fame coaches don’t grow in trees, and half of the league would get rid of their coaches in the blink of an eye just to have a chance to hire Tomlin.
