The Pittsburgh Steelers had a big problem on offense.
Matt Canada wasn’t the only issue, but the results and numbers speak for themselves, and they make it seem like he was.
The Steelers went 44 games in a row without reaching 400 yards of total offense, and those just happened to be the 44 games they had with Canada as their OC.
So, now that they’ve finally gotten over that hump, former NFL QB Chase Daniel believes the sky is the limit for Mike Tomlin’s squad.
Daniel broke down Kenny Pickett’s film from the win over the Cincinnati Bengals, praising his accuracy and aggressiveness under a new offensive coordinator and stating that the Steelers would be a problem down the stretch.
Kenny Pickett & the @steelers hit 400 yds of offense for the first time in 59 games….
Pickett was aggressive down the field & his accuracy SHINED under a new OC.
Steelers will be a PROBLEM down the stretch!

Pickett looked much better in the preseason than he did in the regular season.
He was projected to be one of the most improved players in the league, but that hasn’t been the case thus far.
Even so, he’s shown glimpses of that kind of play, and a new play-caller might just be just what he needed to finally take that leap forward.
Of course, those ‘400 yards’ were an arbitrary number, but the fact that the Steelers were able to march up and down the field at ease and finally found some offensive balance is definitely encouraging.
Now, all pressure will be on Pickett to prove that he wasn’t the problem and that the Steelers are doing the right thing by sticking with him after a less-than-impressive first full season as a starter.
