The Pittsburgh Steelers landed a true gem in T.J. Watt.
There’s literally nothing that he can’t do on the defensive side of the field, as his athleticism and physical traits are only topped by his great reads, football IQ, and instincts.
That’s why former NFL star Jason McCourty gives him the nod over another elite pass rusher like Myles Garrett.
In the latest edition of Good Morning Football, McCourty raved about Watt’s interception on Matthew Stafford during the Steelers’ win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
The Week 7 defensive plays that had @JasonMcCourty saying OOOOOOWEEEEE!

He was in awe of Watt’s ability to make an adjustment in real time, change his trajectory, and jump in front of the pass to snatch it and take it all the way back inside of his rival’s ten-yard line.
McCourty talked about how everybody knows that Watt can rush the passer like the best of them, but he has the edge over Garrett and most defenders because of his eye for the football and that big playmaking ability.
Truth be told, you couldn’t go wrong either way, as Garrett is also one of the most disruptive defensive players in the league.
Then again, Watt is in a tier of his own right now, and he should be the frontrunner to win the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award this season again.
He’s on pace to be considered the greatest defensive player of his generation, and some think he might even go down as the greatest player to ever suit up for this franchise.
